Safe Homes Project

The goal is to work with primary caregivers to make homes more safe and secure for children's wellbeing by minimizing risks and responding to actions of violence against children in their own homes. This project aims to mobilize and educate parents, guardians and caregivers at household and community level about the rights of children and their roles and responsibilities in protecting these rights.

Parents as primary caregivers are guided on how to foster non-violent, positive parenting and reduce vulnerable situations in homes, individualize decision-making on care placements for each child, how to apply a child rights-based approach in daily care work and they are also educated about the International Child Safeguarding Standards and how to apply them in the daily life with children.
